     In the April 1798 term of Wilkes County, North Carolina Court, Sterling Rose came into the court and made oath that a land warrant obtained by his father John Rose for 299 acres had been lost or mislaid and asks the court to make and order that a new warrant be issued.3

     The first mention of Benjamin Rose was in 1780 when he was appointed constable in Wilkes County, North Carolina. He was on a road view jury with John Rose and Sterling Rose in 1784 and in 1787 he witenessed a deed from Sterling Rose to John Hewey. In 1796, Benjamin bought land from Richard Wilbanks witnessed by Sterling Rose and then sold 100 acres to Sterling.2
