     1301, Between William son of Margaret de Ros querent and Margaret de Ros deforciant of 2 messuages 31 carucates and 45 acres land 15 mills and one half share of 3 mills with appurtenances in Helsington etc., Preston Richard etc in Westmoreland. The same is held by the said William and his heirs and the remainder to Marmaduke de Twenge in perpetuity and the said Margaret warrant the said William and his heirs and slso the said Marmaduke and his heirs.      1310, Robert de Gylpine holds of William de Ros a moiety of the hamlet of Tranethayte for 5s. cornage and 18d. puture; Cal. Inq. vi, 424. Thomas de Alneto holds of William de Ros the manor of Coningswyk and the moiety of the hamlet of Tranethayth for 1 lb. pepper; and the moiety of Brathela for one twentieth fee and ½ lb. of cummin; ib. V, 118, 119. William de Patton holds of the same William a messuage and 30 a. in Brathels for ¾ lb. pepper and 5d. puture; John de Lee hold 1 messuage and 20 a. in Brathela for ¼ lb. pepper; ib. 1310, William de Ros held at his death a moiety of the hamlet of Tranethayt which Thomas de Alneto held of him as above, a moiety of the hamlet of Trahethayth, which Robert de Gylpine held of him by the service of 5s. to cornage and 18d. yearly for puture; the hamlet of Grenrig (in demesne) in which are 26 tenants holdaing a messuage each worth 6d. yearly and 191 a. land held between them, each acre worth 4d; a water-mill, worth 40s. yearly and a fulling-mill, worth 10s. yearly; Cal.
