     William Preston [Gent.] married Agnes Nansier, daughter of John Nansier [Esq.] and Elizabeth Lawrence.¹

     Lancelot Lawrence was born in 1485.² Lancelot died in 1534.²

     In 1515, at 30 years of age, Launcelot Lawrence inherited Yealand.²

     At his death, Lancelot held two messuages, etc., in Skerton of the king by knight's service and a rent of 6s 8d.,² two messuages, etc., in Middleton of Lord Monteagle by services unknown,² messuages in Heysham of the king by knight's service and a rent of 12 1/2d. yearly,² six messuages, etc., in Bolton of the king by knight's service,² the manor of Yealand Redmayne by the sixth part of a knight's fee, and various other messuages and lands in Warton, Silverdale, and other places.² He held lands in Silverdale by services unknown. The estate appears to have gone to the Middletons.²

     1543, Lancelot Laurence of Yealand Redmayne held at his death 8 messuages and land in Rowthworth, of whom is not known, worth £8 18s. 6d. yearly; Thomas his son, age 13, wash is heir; D. of Lanc. Inq. p.m., 26 Henry VIII, n. 41.³

     Thomas Lawrence was born in 1521 in England.² Thomas died in 1541 in England.²

     Thomas inherited the estates of his father in 1534 at age 13. In 1538 he became the ward of Thomas Maybook.² At his death he held ten messuages in the Duchy of Lancastershire.² His heir was his brother Robert, also a minor.²

     1541, Grant to Thomas Haidoke inter alia of lands in Rotherworth in Kendalle, late of Lancelot Laurence, deceased, during the minority of Thomas Laurence, son and heir of said Launcelot with ward and marriage of the heir; Letters and Papers Dom., XVI, 605, n. 43.³

     1543, Thomas Laurence held the same tenements at his death; Robert his brother, aged 20 was his heir; Duchy of Lanc. Inq. p.m., 35 Henry VIII.³

     Robert Lawrence was born circa 1523. He married Anne Bradley, daughter of Thomas Bradley [Esq.].¹ Robert died in 1555.¹

     At his death, Robert held two messuages in Middleton of the Crown by knight's service and 12 1/2d. rent.¹

     Anne Bradley married Robert Lawrence, son of Lancelot Lawrence.¹

     Anne Lawrence was born in 1545 in England.^1,2 She married Walter Sydenham [Gent.], son of John Sydenham.²

     Anne and Walter sold the manor of Yealand Redmayne with messuages, windmill, dovecote, etc. to George Middleton, who thus became lord of the whole manor as well as of Yealand Conyers and Leighton. The Lawrence and Croft portions continued to be regarded as separate manors, and were named Yealand Redmayne and Yealand Storrs.²

     Walter Sydenham [Gent.] married Anne Lawrence, daughter of Robert Lawrence and Anne Bradley.¹

     Thomas Hesketh [Jr.] married Margaret Massey.¹

     Margaret Massey married Thomas Hesketh [Jr.], son of Thomas Hesketh and Sibyl Lawrence.¹

     Robert Hesketh married Alice Booth, daughter of Robert Booth.¹ Robert died in 1490.¹

     Alice Booth married Robert Hesketh, son of Thomas Hesketh [Jr.] and Margaret Massey.¹

     

     Robert was also known as [Sir] Robert Booth.¹

     Thomas Hesketh married Elizabeth Fleming, daughter of William Fleming.¹ Thomas died in 1523.¹

     Elizabeth Fleming married Thomas Hesketh, son of Robert Hesketh and Alice Booth.¹

     Elizabeth was the daughter and heiress of William, Baron Fleming of Wath.

     Robert Hesketh married Grace Towneley, daughter of John Towneley.¹

     Robert was also known as [Sir] Robert Hesketh.

     Grace Towneley married Robert Hesketh, son of Thomas Hesketh and Elizabeth Fleming.¹

     

     John was also known as [Sir] John Towneley.¹

     Robert Hesketh Jr. married Alice Holcroft, daughter of John Holcroft.²

     Robert was also known as [Sir] Robert Hesketh Jr.

     Alice Holcroft married Robert Hesketh Jr., son of Robert Hesketh and Grace Towneley.¹

     

     John was also known as [Sir] John Holcroft.¹

     Robert Hesketh married Mary Stanley, daughter of George Stanley.¹

     This line not only possessed great estates but were connected by marriage with the noblest families of Lancashire.¹

     Mary Stanley married Robert Hesketh, son of Robert Hesketh Jr. and Alice Holcroft.¹
