     John Browning was born on 27 February 1850 in Laurel Mills, Virginia.^1,2 He married Lucy Alice Priest, daughter of John Mason Priest and Lucie Fannie Holland, on 6 October 1880 in Shenandoah Co., Virginia.¹ John died on 30 April 1902 in Oranda, Virginia, at age 52.¹ He was interred in Riverview Cemetery in Strasburg, Shenandoah Co., Virginia.¹
