Bunton was born in November 1848.⁵ She married Samuel Ealy Johnson [Sr.], son of Jesse Johnson and Lucy Webb Barnett, on 11 December 1867 in Lockhart, Caldwell Co., Texas.¹ According to conflicting evidence, she married Samuel Ealy Johnson [Sr.] on 6 October 1867 in Caldwell Co., Texas.⁶ Eliza died on 20 January 1917 in Stonewall, Gillespie Co., Texas, at age 67.¹
