     John, younger brother of William, was chartered 13 February 1469, from James III the lands of Boneside, a third part of lands of Hiltcliff, and two acres of land by the Hospital of St. Mary Madgalene, the other by Blaknes Castle, Co. Linlithgow, all resigned by Thomas de Walterstoune. The lands of Boneside, Co. Linlithgow, were resigned by John and Thomas Kincaid in 1469.1

     King James III granted a Carta to John de Kincaid and his heirs of the lands of Boneside, a third part of the lands of Hiltclaff and two cases of land by the hospital of St. Marie Magdline; the other by Blaknes Castle, County Linlithgow, all resigned by Thomas de Walterstonne. The lands of Bunaside, County Linlithgow, were resigned by John and Thomas Kincaid in 1469.2

     John Kincaid was born on 10 March 1760 in Amherst Co., Virginia.1 He married Elizabeth Galespie, daughter of James Galespie, on 11 February 1782 in Greenbrier Co., Virginia.1 John died on 21 April 1834 at age 74.1
     

     John served in the Revolutionary War, certificate no. #23923, Virginia agency, from 15 February 1781 for six or seven months as private. John and Elizabeth moved to Roaring River, Tennessee, and then later to Big Creek that empties into the Gauley River some 2 miles above Gauley Bridge, in Fayette Co., Virginia. In 1812 and 1813 he was constable of Giles Co. He received his last pension check from Virginia in 1834, while living in Fayette Co, West Virginia [sic] (has to be Virginia). He was buried at Sinking Springs forerunner of the town of Kincaid, name for John.1
