Thomas Nokes Jr. was born between 1810 and 1820.1 He married Susan Mullins, daughter of Daniel Coleman Mullins and Oridema Lyle, before 1835. Thomas died before 28 June 1847.2
On 7 November 1834, Thomas Nokes, Jr. of Warren Co. deeded ten acres on the head waters of dry fork of Smith's Fork to G. W. Rose of the same place. 3
Katherine Taylor deeded 50 acres on Sickamore Fork of Clear Fork of Smith Fork, it being land on which the said Katherine now liveth to Thomas Nokes on 14 October 1839. Thomas Nokes deeded 50 acres in the 10th District to Alfred S. Hancock on 26 October 1840.3 On 20 June 1837, Drury Spurlock of Warren County deeded 60 acres on Kerby's Creek, a branch of clear fork, to Thomas Nokes and on 28 October 1841, Drury Spurlock deeded to Thomas Nokes 86 acres on Kerby's branch of clear fork.3 Thomas Nokes deeded 150 acres in the 10th district to Hiram N. Dodd on 31 October 1841.3 Luke Sherley deed 24 acres on the south side of Short Mountain to Thomas Nokes on 23 October 1841.3 On 16 January 1844, Thomas Nokes deeded 30 acres in the 10th District to William C. Nokes.3 On 19 January 1844, Thomas Nokes deeded 40 acres in the 9th District to Asa Smith.3 This could be Thomas Jr. or perhaps some of these transactions may be for his father Thomas Nokes Sr.
On 19 December 1843, Medford Caffey issued a title bond to Thomas Nokes.3 Thomas Nokes issued a title bond to William Nokes on 14 September 1846.3 Thoams Nokes and Archebald Stone issued a title bond to David M. Jarratt on 28 January 1846.3 These title deeds are subject of a Chancery Court case between Medford Caffey and Susan Nokes and William Nokes, executors of the estate of Thomas Nokes.
