     Thomas Lawrence was born on 17 February 1787.¹ He married first Isabella Harris, daughter of Thomas Harris and Clotilda Ladd, on 12 May 1822 in Ceder Creek, Hanover Co., Virginia.² He married second Deborah Pretlow, daughter of Richard Ricks and Julia Wilkinson, on 26 April 1826.^2,1 Thomas died on 17 December 1857 at age 70.¹Thomas and Deborah moved to Ohio and was accepted for membership at Short Creek Monthly Meeting, February 19, 1833.²

     Thomas Newby married Mary Lawrence, daughter of John Lawrence [III] and Martha Ricks.^1,2

     Robert Carr Jr. married Mary Murphy Lawrence, daughter of John Lawrence Jr. and Margaret Murphy.¹ Robert died before 26 May 1735.²Robert made a will on 10 May 1734. Robert's will names his wife Mary, son Robert, and daughter Elizabeth Darden.

     His will was recorded on 26 May 1735.

     Priscilla ? married Robert Lawrence, son of Robert Lawrence [IV] and Anne Council.¹

     Joshiah Lawrence married Sally Fizzel circa 1803.¹

     Jesse Lawrence married Christian Gregory.²Gates Co., NC marriages indicate a marriage between a Jesse Lawrence and Christian Gregory. I believe that this may be this Jesse Lawrence.

     Jacob Lawrence married Sarah Williams on 17 May 1794 in Southampton Co., Virginia.¹Jacob Lawrence and James Bates were Processioners in District No. 25 of the Upper Parish of Nansemond County on 30 December 1791. A Jacob Lawrence married Sally Williams on 23 May 1794, in Southampton County, bonded by Jesse Crocker.

     Jacob's sister's Lydia's given name comes from an e-mail received from Martha Marble containing information from the Jan. 1990 issue of Southside Virginian to wit: p. 3 Southampton Co. Chancery Suits by L. H. Hart. 1. Polly Lawrence infant heir of Jacob Lawrence died in Jan. 1801 poss of 400 and 350 Ac and 17 Negroes. Heirs: Jesse Lawrence 1/6; John Foreman and wife Mary 1/6; Daniel, Davy, Lawrence, Polly Priscilla Sidney, Matthias and Sally Williams (children of Sarah Lawrence Williams) 1/6; Lawrence and Temperance Ellis (children of Lydia Lawrence Ellis) 1/6; Richard Allen and Priscilla wife 1/6; Josiah Lawrence 1/6.²

     The above Jesse, Mary, Sarah, Lydia, Priscilla, and Josiah are all siblings of Jacob.

     Also, 2. Isaac Williams died intestate 178? -- owned 478 Ac; Heirs: Jacob Lawrence and wife Sarah Williams 1/4; Joseph Williams, infant by Joseph Denson, guard 1/4; Edwin and Elizabeth Williams infants by Jordan Denson, guard 1/4 each. This identifies Jacobs wife as Sarah Williams.²

     This appears to establish this family.

     Richard Allen married Priscilla Lawrence, daughter of Robert Lawrence and Priscilla ?, on 8 January 1789 in Southampton Co., Virginia.^1,2

     Abraham Ricks was born on 3 December 1674 in Isle of Wight Co., Virginia.¹ He married Mary Bellson on 16 June 1703 in Virginia.^2,1 Abraham died before 10 July 1746 in Isle of Wight Co., Virginia.Abraham made a will on 24 June 1746. In his will he gave daughter Martha Lawrence the land adjoining John Lawrence and Thomas Smelley, and John Lawrence and Joshiah Jordan were appointed to collect the debts.

     His will was probated on 10 July 1746. The legacy was delivered to John Lawrence on October 9th.

     Henry Applewhaite was born say 1670 in Isle of Wight Co., Virginia.^1,2 He married first Unknown ?.² He married second Anne Marshall.³ Henry died before 27 April 1741 in Isle of Wight Co., Virginia.⁴His will was recorded on 27 April 1741 in Isle of Wight Co., Virginia.

     Anne Marshall married Henry Applewhaite.¹ Anne died before 10 March 1747 in Isle of Wight Co., Virginia.²Anne made a will on 26 July 1746.

     Her will was recorded on 10 March 1747.

     Mills Darden married Permelia Lawrence, daughter of Hardy Lawrence and Martha Gay, on 18 July 1795 in Isle of Wight Co., Virginia.¹

     John Darden married Charity ?.¹

     Charity ? married John Darden.¹

     Joseph Joyner was born before 1724 in Isle of Wight Co., Virginia.¹ He married Elizabeth Smelly in Isle of Wight Co., Virginia.² Joseph died before 8 April 1762.^3,4Joseph made a will on 25 October 1760 in Southampton Co., Virginia. It was recorded 8 April 1762. Legatees were son Joseph, son John land purchased of Mary Clother, dau. Margaret Whitney, dau. Mary Mackey, grandson Joseph Mackey; daus. Elizabeth, Ann, and Amey Joyner. Witnesses William Haynes, Giles Joyner, Charles Lawrence.⁵
