     Mary married first Elisha Rhodes.² Mary married second Frederick Lawrence, son of Humphrey Lawrence and Ann Ashley, in 1790.^3,2 Mary died before 1 January 1801.²

     Reuben Lawrence was born in 1787.^1,2 He married Frances Yates.¹ Reuben died on 25 February 1843.²Reuben was also known as [Rev.] Reuben Lawrence [Sr.].

     29 April 1787, Reuben Lawrence planter of Bertie Co. sold to Benjamin Cook for 44£10s. 44 1/2 acres (messuage) on Black Walnot Swamp, joining Thomas Baker, witness by William Ashburn, Alexander Hopkins, Joseph Hopkins.³

     Sally Moore Koestler indicates that Reuben's wife was Frances Rascoe, possibly the daughter of Arthur Rascoe.²

     Reuben Lawrence was ordained on the 3rd Sunday in August 1820 at the Cashie Baptist Church near Windsor. He also served congregations at Capehart's Church from it' founding on 10 December 1824 until his death.^2,2

     Elizabeth Lawrence married Daniel Burros on 6 January 1801 in Bertie Co., North Carolina. This may be the Elizabeth Lawrence that married Daniel Burros.²

     Judith Lawrence was born circa 1791.² She married James McGlouhon circa 1810.² Judith died before 11 April 1840.²

     Sarah Emelia Payne married David Nathaniel Lawrence, son of Humphrey Lawrence and Ann Ashley.¹

     Peter Payne Lawrence was born on 23 October 1780 in Bertie Co., North Carolina.^1,2 He married first Anna Blount, daughter of Edmund Blount and Mary ?, on 1 March 1804 in Chowan Co., North Carolina.^3,4 He married second Martha McCotter on 19 October 1822 in Chowan Co., North Carolina.⁴ Peter died on 10 February 1855 in Tarboro, Edgefield Co., North Carolina, at age 74.^1,2On 26 November 1801, Peter P. Lawrence of Edenton, Merchant, sold 175 acres of land known as Dogwood Neck to William Gregory for £500.³

     On 28 November 1805, Charles W. Blount of Perquimans Co., Joseph C. Benbury and wife Sarah, Peter P. Lawence and wife Ann (Nancy) of Cowan Co. sold 99 acres called Wilkinses in Cowan Co. to Edward Haughton for £400. This was their share of lands inherited from Edmund Blount Jr. who died intestate and under age. Edmund had inherited the land from his father Edmund Blount Esqr. Since Edmund Jr. died intestate the land was divided amount his brothers and sisters; Charles W. Blount, William Blount, Sarah Benbury wife of Joseph C. Benbury, Mary Benbury wife of Richard Benbury, Elizabeth Hoskins wife of Edmund Hoskins, Ann (Nancy) Lawrence wife of Peter P. Lawrence, Richard Blount, and Martha Blount.³

     Peter P. Lawrence morgaged to Edmund Hoskins 1 February 1807, for $1,000 a house and lot in the town of Edenton on Queen Street in the Old Plan of the town No. 71 and a Negro girl Peggy about 13 years. If Peter paid $500 to Edmund Hoskins on or before 1 Jan 1809 then the above to be null and void.³

     On 10 June 1811 Steward Mollan of the state of New York for $1,400 paid to Peter Payne Lawrence by John Beasley of Edenton sold and delivered to Beasley a Negro woman Rachel and her six children all of which are now bound to Mollan by Mortgage given by Peter Payne Lawrence to secure a debt Lawrence owes Mollan. In order to cancel said mortgage which is on record in Chowan Co. Mollan warrants said negroes unto said John Beasley.⁵

     Mary Lawrence was born in Bertie Co., North Carolina.¹

     Tabitha Lawrence was born circa 1782 in Bertie Co., North Carolina.^1,2 She married James Wills on 6 April 1798.²

     Reuben Lawrence was born in Bertie Co., North Carolina.¹

     Cornelius Lawrence was born circa 1809.²

     Joseph Lawrence was born circa 1770.¹ He married Sally Sykes on 28 February 1793 in Isle of Wight Co., Virginia.² Joseph died before 20 November 1816 in Bertie Co., North Carolina.³On 13 June 1781, Joseph paid James Campbell of Bertie County, £100 current North Carolina money for 100 acres on Mill Swamp adjoining James Burrass, Butterton, Robert Hendry, and the road, witnessed by Jonathan Jacocks.

     On 27 September 1783, Joseph Lawrence planter of Bertie Co. sold to James Burroughts of the same for £100, 100 acres on west side of Chowan River on the Mill Swamp, joining the road, Buroughts old line, witnessed by Reuben Buroughs, Lucy Buroughs.⁴

     On 9 February 1784, Joseph Lawrence sold James Campbell for £100, 100 acres, joining Mill Swamp, near James Burrass or Campbell (now Johnson's line), Butterton;s former line, the road near Robert Hedry, witnessed by Thomas Cochran and Robert Hendry.⁴

     In the Bertie County Census of 1790, Joseph was listed with himself, one male under sixteen, and two females.

     On 20 November 1816, certain Commissioners divided the land of Joseph Lawrence, deceased, among (1) Prudence Bowers, (2) the heirs of William Lawrence, Jr., and (3) Martha West.

     Sally Sykes married Joseph Lawrence, son of William Lawrence and Elizabeth Lawrence, on 28 February 1793 in Isle of Wight Co., Virginia.¹

     Elizabeth Jane Lawrence was born circa 1815.² She married James Alston.² Elizabeth died in November 1898.²

     Mary Lawrence was born circa 1812.²

     Nancy ? married Robert Lawrence, son of John Lawrence and Jane Walston.¹

     David Lawrence was born circa 1781.² David married first Unknown Bowen?.² David Lawrence married second Ellizabeth Miers? circa 1825.² David died in 1828.²

     Frances Lawrence married Matthew Pearce on 27 November 1806 in Bertie Co., North Carolina.¹Frances was also known as Fannie.²

     Nancy Lawrence married James Cobb on 10 May 1805 in Bertie Co., North Carolina.¹

     Winnefred Lawrence married Nancy Ann Williams on 25 June 1803.¹ Winnefred died before 1809.¹

     Celia died before 1809.¹

     Sarah Nichols married Thomas Lawrence Jr., son of Thomas Lawrence and Elizabeth Williamson, on 3 February 1784.^1,2
