     Benjamin Whitfield was born in 1752.1 He married first Sarah Bryan.1 He married second Anne Staten circa 1778.1 Benjamin died in 1832.1Benjamin was the Captain of the 5th Company, 2nd Battalion, Greene County, Georgia in 1793. From 1793 to 1796, he was the Captain of the 9th Company, Hancock County, Regiment of the Militia. He was a Justice of Peace in Hancock County from 1796 to 1799 and in Putnam County, Georgia, from 1813 to 1815. Benjamin was a member of the House of Representatives from Putnam County in 1811. He owned 607 acres of land on Glady Creek, Putnam County and 22 slaves.1

     Benjamin made a will on 17 September 1832 in Eatonton, Putnam Co., Georgia. His will was recorded in Will Book B, pages 124-125.1
